I’m Robin Baise, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alaska and Missouri.
Mission Statement:
To create a protected therapeutic place where clients feel empowered to self-reflect on their past and present to look inside themselves and build the skills to make changes within to better their lives, relationships, and future with the hopes of finding happiness in living a meaningful life.
I engage in counseling through a variety of approaches. I believe I am holistic, looking at all aspects of our lives: mind, body, and spirit. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); a psychotherapy treatment that is designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. I believe I am eclectic in my therapeutic approach, drawing from clinical training, graduate work, and work and life experiences. I am a learner. I continue to explore, research and attend trainings. I might “geek-out” on resources and get excited to enhance my professional skills. I use a variety of different tools from Cognitive behavioral therapy, Emotionally focused therapy, Person-centered therapy, Art therapy, and Play therapy.
My experience has been in working with at risk youth and families in home, school, and residential settings. As a licensed professional I have experience working with the military and their families as a Military and Family Life Counselor and working with Indian Health as a crisis clinician for Tanana Chiefs Conference. I have experience working with a wide variety of mental health conditions including, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addictions.
A little personal background! I was born and raised in central Missouri and attended University of Central Missouri where I received my bachelor’s degree in social work in December 2000. With my BSW I worked with senior citizens and disabled individuals in long term care facilities. In 2003 life took me on an adventure of becoming a stay-at-home mother, an Army spouse and homemaker. In 2010 I returned to school and graduated from Argosy University in December 2012 with a master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Currently, I work full-time Monday through Thursday, offering both, in person and telehealth services.
