With a background as a special education teacher and school counselor, I have dedicated my career to supporting children and adolescents in both academic and emotional growth. My experience in the education system has given me a deep understanding of the challenges students face, from learning differences to emotional and behavioral struggles. Transitioning into counseling has allowed me to expand that support, helping individuals and families navigate life’s difficulties in a therapeutic setting.
I utilize a range of evidence-based approaches tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Play Therapy helps children express emotions in a developmentally appropriate way, while Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) supports thought and behavior changes. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) builds emotional regulation skills, and Brainspotting allows clients to process trauma and deepen emotional healing.
At the core of my practice is Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), a humanistic approach developed by Carl Rogers. PCT emphasizes self-direction and personal growth, creating a supportive environment that fosters self-exploration. My sessions are client-driven, allowing individuals to express their thoughts and emotions freely at their own pace. I work with clients ranging from ages 3 to 80, providing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity to help them feel valued and understood.
By integrating these approaches, I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where clients can build self-awareness, develop coping strategies, and work toward healing and personal growth.
